Meaning of the Term

An indicator that shows the strength of the correlation between qualitative and quantitative variables. It takes on values between 0 and 1, with a value closer to 1 representing stronger correlation. In cases where the qualitative variable is an n-category variable, the correlation ratio is equal to the sum of the deviation squares within each of the n categories divided by the sum of the deviation squares for the entire sample.
